Plinth AI & MCP Connector
We bring Plinth's add-in capabilities into the AI — real Tools beyond what Claude already knows.
Plinth AI is not a generic chat wrapper: we expose the add-in's own capabilities as Tools the assistant can call — create levels and grids, run structural and architectural modules, read and change the live model — on top of what Claude already knows how to do. Ask questions, inspect and select elements, change parameters, and run the guided Plinth Workflow (levels, grids, structure, architecture) from an in-Revit chat. Interactive pickers cover family types, levels, and the same module settings as the Plinth panel — beam alignment (centerline / exterior / interior), column align-to-beam, floor perimeter, and more — so every run is under your control, not silent defaults. The assistant follows your plan — Starter or Pro.
Same Plinth Tools in Claude Desktop — the add-in's power, not just conversation.
One-click setup exposes Plinth's Revit Tools over a local Model Context Protocol connector, so Claude Desktop (or any MCP client) can run the same add-in capabilities — not only what the model already knows. Use your existing Claude plan with no API key. Interactive pickers and module-settings forms open in Revit — types, levels, beam/column options — not just text lists. Same Tools, same guided workflow, from the AI client you already work in.
Finish modeling
Floor finish elements from room boundaries, scoped by level or room.
Select finish types once, run across your scope, and generate consistent flooring without manual tracing.
Base and skirting finishes along room perimeters with per-run type control.
Apply skirting to selected levels or rooms with the same scope dialog used across all finish tools.
Ceiling finish elements aligned to room geometry within your scope.
Generate ceiling finishes room-by-room or level-by-level with preserved type selections on every run.
Wall finish layers applied from room-aware boundaries.
Model interior wall finishes directly from closed room loops — no repetitive manual placement.
Column wrap finishes at structural column locations in scope.
Target columns on selected levels or within rooms and apply finish types in one coordinated pass.
Beam wrap finishes at structural beam locations in scope.
Generate beam finishes across your scope with the same level and room filters as the rest of the suite.
Dedicated scope dialog with level and room filters on every finish run.
Filter by levels or rooms, preserve type selections on every run, and apply finishes to a consistent standard across the model.
Room-level traceability for quantities and material schedules.
Room-level traceability and quantity extraction from generated finishes for BOQ and material schedules.
Structural modeling
Automated level creation and orthogonal or curved grid placement.
Full automation to create levels and place orthogonal or curved grids — rapid setup of your model coordinate system in Revit.
Custom structural perimeters for complex sites — per level within each grid package.
Set Boundary draws editable green PLINTH_STRUCTURAL_BOUNDARY perimeters per multi-level grid package — complex sites, cutouts, and offsets. Sync copies edited boundaries between levels; partial sync preserves unchanged floors. Floors, walls, and beams follow each level's 2D boundary.
Automatic join cleanup across selected structural elements.
Run a single command to join geometry across beams, columns, and related structural members — reducing manual join work after placement.
Point footings and raft slabs from live grid intersections.
Place foundation types with height offset and raft edge padding controls from the structural pipeline.
Beam placement with alignment and connection options.
Configure alignment and connection behavior, then generate beams from your grid layout in seconds.
Columns at grid intersections with base and top offset control.
Place columns with project-unit offsets and run as an individual module or as part of the full pipeline.
Structural floor slabs with height offset and perimeter reference options.
Generate floors from grid bounds with edge padding and perimeter reference settings per project standards.
Structural walls placed from the grid and level context.
Complete the structural shell as the final step of the automated pipeline or run walls on their own.
Architectural coordination
Automatic room placement across every selected level in parallel.
Automatic room placement across every selected level in parallel — the same logic as Revit's Place Rooms Automatically.
Sequential naming with spatial copy from a source room.
Apply a sequential name prefix with XY spatial matching — copy naming from a source room without using room number or id.
Manage & productivity
One consolidated report for openings, shafts, doors, and windows.
Analyze openings by level — including sketches, wall openings, doors, and windows — in a single structured output for coordination and QC.
Rename, duplicate, edit, or delete views and templates in bulk.
Select multiple views or view templates and apply rename, duplicate, property edits, or deletion in one operation.
Hide, unhide, isolate, or delete by family, type, material, or phase.
Apply visibility actions across selected views with preset save/load support and a reset for temporary hide/isolate states.
Isolate rooms or levels in a dedicated 3D view — with optional exploded axonometry.
Pick rooms or levels (or pick rooms straight from the view) and get a clean, dedicated 3D view of just that scope — walls, floors and ceilings cut to the room boundary. Optional Explode spreads levels vertically, sinks floors, lifts ceilings, and slides boundary walls with their doors and windows outward for a professional exploded view.
Graphic overrides by family, type, material, or phase on selected views.
Apply and manage color override presets across views for documentation, coordination, and design review.
Remove elements below a Z elevation threshold.
Quick cleanup utility for elements under a defined elevation — useful during model prep and coordination passes.
